​1.워크숍 소개 _ About the Work-shop​

  CREATIVE틈의 워크숍 BACK TO THE BASIC 시리즈는 이름 그대로, 다시 기본으로 돌아가기 위한 창작 워크숍입니다. 우리는 연극에서 가장 중요한 것은 소통, 분석하는​ 힘, ​세상을 바라보는 시선, 그리고 ​자신만의 태도를 끝까지 지켜내는 일이라고 믿습니다. 이러한 기본을 단단하게 만들어가기 위해서는 꾸준한 창작과 발표의 과정이 무엇보다 중요합니다. 

  PART II는 2인극 텍스트를 중심으로 진행되는 워크숍입니다. PART I에서 긴 호흡의 모놀로그를 통해 배우와 연출가가 각자의 시선과 태도를 단단히 세웠다면, PART II에서는 두 인물이 서로의 존재를 마주하는 장면을 통해 관계와 리듬, 그리고 함께 무대를 만들어가는 감각을 훈련합니다. 혼자 존재하는 법에서 함께 존재하는 법으로, 창작의 범위를 한 단계 확장하는 과정입니다.

  연출가도, 배우도, 디자이너도 끊임없이 시도하고 훈련하지 않으면 어느 순간 감각은 굳어집니다. 창작 역시 몸을 단련하는 일과 다르지 않습니다. BACK TO THE BASIC은 CREATIVE틈의 창작자들이 자신의 창작 근육을 꾸준히 단련하고, 다시 새로운 작업으로 나아갈 수 있는 힘을 기르는 과정입니다.

  CREATIVE Teum's BACK TO THE BASIC workshop series is exactly what its name suggests: a creative workshop dedicated to returning to the fundamentals. We believe that the foundation of theater lies in communication, critical analysis, the way we observe the world, and the ability to remain grounded in one's own artistic perspective. Developing these qualities requires continuous practice, collaboration, and public presentation.

  PART II is a workshop centered on two-character plays. While PART I focuses on monologues, allowing actors and directors to strengthen their individual artistic perspectives and approaches through sustained, long-form text, PART II shifts its attention to the relationship between two characters. Through scenes of encounter and interaction, participants explore rhythm, collaboration, and the process of creating a performance together. It is a transition from learning how to exist alone on stage to learning how to exist with another—an expansion of the creative process into a shared theatrical experience.

  Directors, actors, and designers alike must continue to experiment and refine their craft. Without constant practice, artistic instincts inevitably become rigid. Creation, like any discipline, requires continual training. Through the BACK TO THE BASIC series, CREATIVE Teum cultivates its artists' creative muscles, providing the foundation from which new works can continue to emerge.

2. 작품 소개 _ About The Works

오채령 극작 / 출연 <빛내기를 위한 안내서>

​

   <빛내기를 위한 안내서>는 CREATIVE틈의 창작자 오채령 배우가 직접 쓰고 출연한 작품입니다. 오채령 배우는 CREATIVE틈에서 공연예술전문스태프로 활동하며 쌓아온 시간과 경험을 바탕으로, 무대 뒤에서 살아가는 사람들의 이야기를 작가만의 섬세하고 다정한 시선으로 희곡으로 풀어냈습니다. 작품은 여러 공연 현장에서 무대크루로 일하며 마주한 사람들과 사건, 그리고 그 속에서 피어난 감정들을 아름답고 절제된 독백으로 담아냅니다. 우리는 흔히 무대 위 조명을 받는 사람들의 이야기에 익숙합니다. 그러나 <빛내기를 위한 안내서>는 그 빛을 만들어내는 사람들, 무대 뒤 어둠 속에서 공연을 완성하는 이들의 이야기에 귀 기울입니다.

  오채령 배우는 BACK TO THE BASIC PART I 워크숍을 통해 모노로그라는 형식과 긴 호흡의 독백을 깊이 탐구했습니다. 그 경험은 워크숍 안에서 끝나지 않았습니다. 스스로 극작 워크숍에 참여하여 자신의 경험을 희곡으로 발전시키는 새로운 창작 과정으로 이어졌고, 그 결과 탄생한 작품이 <빛내기를 위한 안내서> 입니다. 창작자가 스스로 다음 단계를 찾아 나아가고, 다시 그 결과를 CREATIVE틈으로 가져와 함께 발전 시키는 것. <빛내기를 위한 안내서>는 CREATIVE틈이 지향하는 창작의 선-순환을 가장 잘 보여주는 작품입니다.

닉 페인 (Nick Payen) <별무리 (Constellations)>

​

 영국의 극작가 닉 페인의 <별무리>는 "멀티 유니버스"라는 개념을 바탕으로 한 2인극 입니다. 하나의 관계에서 무수한 가능성이 펼쳐질 수 있다는 가정을 통해 사랑과 선택, 시간과 운명을 섬세하게 그려냅니다. 우리는 BACK TO THE BASIC PART II의 텍스트로 이 작품을 선택했습니다. PART I에서 배우가 혼자 무대 위에 존재하는 방법을 탐구했다면, PART II에서는 두 인물이 관계를 맺고 호흡하며 하나의 장면을 함께 만들어가는 과정을 훈련하기에 가장 적합한 작품이었기 때문입니다.

  이번 워크숍은 CREATIVE틈의 창작자들과 객원 창작자인 남선희, 정인혜 배우가 함꼐 참여했습니다. 특히 작품의 핵심 개념인 "멀티 유니버스"를 시각적 이미지와 무대 언어로 구현하는 실험을 통해, 창작자들은 끊임없이 서로의 호흡을 맞추며 장면을 확장하고 더욱 다층적인 무대를 만들어냈습니다.

Playwright / Performer | Chae ryung Oh

<A Guide to Becoming Luminous>

​

  <A Guide to Becoming Luminous> is an original play written and performed by CREATIVE Teum artist Chae ryung Oh. Drawing on her experiences working as a professional stage crew member with CREATIVE Teum, Oh transforms the often-unseen lives of backstage theater workers into a play through her own delicate and compassionate voice. The work unfolds through a series of restrained yet deeply lyrical monologues, capturing the people, moments, and emotions she encountered while working behind the scenes. We are accustomed to stories about those who stand beneath the spotlight. A Guide to Becoming Luminous, however, invites us to listen to the people who make that light possible—the ones who work quietly in the darkness behind the stage.

  Through the BACK TO THE BASIC PART I workshop, Oh explored the form of the monologue and the sustained rhythm of long-form solo performance. That experience did not end with the workshop itself. Inspired to continue developing her own artistic voice, she independently joined a playwriting workshop, where she transformed her personal experiences into a full-length script. The result was A Guide to Becoming Luminous. The journey of taking the initiative to seek out the next stage of artistic growth and then bringing that work back to CREATIVE Teum to continue developing it reflects the creative cycle that defines our company. Following its development, A Guide to Becoming Luminous was first presented as CREATIVE Teum's inaugural showcase production before evolving into the company's first full-scale theatrical production.

Nick Payne <Constellations>

​

  Constellations by British playwright Nick Payne is a two-person play built around the concept of the multiverse. Through the premise that countless possibilities can emerge from a single relationship, the play delicately explores love, choice, time, and fate.

  CREATIVE Teum selected Constellations as the primary text for BACK TO THE BASIC PART II. While PART I focused on exploring how an actor exists alone on stage through the monologue, PART II shifted its focus to the relationship between two performers—training participants to build rhythm, connection, and shared presence through dialogue and interaction.

  This workshop brought together CREATIVE Teum artists alongside guest artists Sunhee Nam and Inhye Jeong. By experimenting with ways to translate the play's central idea of the multiverse into theatrical imagery and visual language, the participants continuously responded to one another, expanding each scene into increasingly layered and dynamic theatrical compositions.
