  CREATIVE틈 연극 실험실은 서울 충무로 인쇄골목 끝자락에 자리한 창작 공간입니다. 끊임없이 돌아가는 인쇄기 소리와 인쇄 장인들의 손길이 오랫동안 축적된 골목 한편에서, 우리는 몸과 빛, 소리, 이미지가 만나 새로운 연극적 가능성을 발견하는 실험을 이어가고 있습니다.

​  이 공간을 만든 이유는, 연극을 구성하는 모든 요소들이 창작 초기 단계부터 서로 만나고 대화할 수 있는 환경을 만들기 위해서였습니다. 대부분의 공연 제작 과정에서 조명, 음향, 영상과 같은 기술적 요소들은 극장 입성 이후 제한된 시간 안에서 다루어집니다. 때문에 배우와 기술 요소가 충분히 호흡하고 서로의 가능성을 탐색할 기회는 많지 않습니다.

  CREATIVE틈 연극 실험실은 이러한 한계를 넘어, 배우와 조명, 음향, 영상 등 연극을 이루는 모든 요소가 창작의 초기 단계부터 유기적으로 연결되고 상호작용하는 과정을 지향합니다. 천장에는 그리드를 시공하여 조명, 영상, 음향에 대한 다양한 무대 실험이 가능하도록 하였고, 바닥 전체에는 댄스플로어를 시공하여 배우들이 안전하고 편안한 환경 속에서 신체와 움직임을 탐구할 수 있도록 하였습니다.

​  우리는 연극이 개별 요소들의 단순한 결합이 아니라, 각각의 요소가 서로 영향을 주고받으며 하나의 작품을 함께 완성해가는 과정이라고 믿습니다. CREATIVE틈 연극 실험실은 몸과 빛, 소리와 이미지가 분리되지 않고 하나의 공연 언어를 만들어가는 열린 창작과 실험의 공간입니다.

  Creative Teum Theatre Laboratory is a creative space located at the far end of Chungmuro's historic printing district in Seoul. Amid the lingering sounds of printing presses and the craftsmanship accumulated in these alleyways over decades, we continue to explore new theatrical possibilities where bodies, light, sound, and images come together.

  The primary reason for creating this space was to establish an environment in which all elements of theatre could encounter one another and engage in dialogue from the earliest stages of the creative process. In most productions, technical elements such as lighting, sound, and video are introduced only during the limited hours of technical rehearsals in the theatre. As a result, performers rarely have sufficient opportunities to interact with these elements or to fully explore their artistic potential together.

  Creative Teum Theatre Laboratory seeks to overcome these limitations by fostering a process in which performers, lighting, sound, video, and all other theatrical components are organically connected and interact from the very beginning of creation. To support this, a ceiling grid system has been installed, allowing for a wide range of experiments with lighting, video, and sound. In addition, the entire floor is covered with a dance floor, providing performers with a safe and comfortable environment in which to explore movement and physical expression.

  We believe that theatre is not merely the sum of its individual components, but a process through which each element continuously influences the others in the collective creation of a work. Creative Teum Theatre Laboratory is an open space for creation and experimentation, where bodies, light, sound, and images are not treated as separate entities, but come together to form a unified theatrical language.
